  • 2 white large onions
  • 4 cups plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 2 eggs
  • A cup of water
  • A cup of oil

How to make Onion cookies step by step

  • Set aside after chopping the two white onions.
  • Mix the dry ingredients in a different basin (flour, salt and baking powder)
  • Combine the already-chopped onions, egg, water, and oil in a different bowl.
  • Here, using your hands, thoroughly blend the wet and dry ingredients (the dough should be oily but hold together)
  • Create little balls from the roll, flatten using a rolling pin until they are about 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick, and then shape with a knife or cookie cutter.
  • Each cookie should be forked-marked for an ideal design.
  • Grease your baking pan with little oil and arrange the cookies
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Bake the cookies until golden brown
